The THD 4x12 Speaker Cabinet continues in the tradition of the highly acclaimed THD 2x12

The Cabinets are from 2008 production, stored in secure premises, and in their original production packaging, unused, unplayed, but will be fully tested prior to shipping.

With four proprietary US-Made 12” speakers, the THD 4x12 exceeds the harmonic richness of the THD 2x12 cabinet while providing efficiency and dispersion better suited to stage use.

Unlike any other cabinet on the market, the THD 4x12 uses a unique combination of speakers, and construction features such as a tuned port and diffusers in the centre of each driver. The four speakers, two THD 'Longhorn', and two THD 'Vintage', are connected throughout using industry standard Belden wire to the rear steel jack dish, and utilising two Switchcraft jackplugs.

This combination of the two speaker types in an 'cross' configuration gives the cabinet a wonderfully complex and three-dimensional sound. The tuned rear port makes the THD 4x12 more efficient than any open-back or sealed Cabinet, with a much tighter bottom-end response.

The beam diffusers built into the speaker baffle completely eliminate any ‘beamy’ characteristic, which all other 4x12 cabinets suffer from. Due to the interaction of four speakers in a squared configuration, all other 4x12 cabinets tend to deafen the people who are dead centre in front of it, while leaving everyone else wondering why they can’t hear the guitar. THD’s unique diffusers reflect the top-end that comes off of the centre of the cone, and reflect it back to the speaker then back out at an angle, so that it fills the room better than any other 4x12 cabinet.

The result is stunning and immediately obvious to the player and the audience.

Also, unlike most 4x12 cabinets, the THD 4x12 is equally complimentary to clean and overdriven sounds, and its phase-coherent design means that complex chords still maintain their clarity. The THD 4x12 also has great transient response for fast attack, and an extremely high level of detail in the sound.

Furthermore, all of THD’s speakers are chemically aged at the factory so that they sound warm and broken-in from day one.

The THD 4x12 cabinet, made 100% in the USA of 18mm thick, 13-ply Baltic Birch plywood with a special combination of complex interlocking dado joints in the X, Y and Z axes, assuring that all of the individual pieces of timber that make up the cabinet fully lock into each other in the most solid manner possible. This construction method provides more stiffness and more glue area than either dovetail or finger joints.

The framed grille cloth is perfectly fitted, securely Velcro mounted, and easily removable thanks to a pair of tape tags along it’s lower edge.

Four heavy duty rubber feet are attached, also included are four click-in plates in the base that accept sturdy wheels for ease of moving the cab around.
