This thing is damn clean, plus the chorus sounds better than any pedal or plugin.
After suffering a permanent back injury I could no longer play my elictric guitar as it was too heavy or my acoustic electric guitar because it felt like it was twice it's normal size because I could no longer find a comfortable position for myself to play it. I bought a keyboard thinking that I could still play music. Afterv two weeks of playing around with the keyboard I gave up pllaying. Then I saw on the internet one night an advertisement for a 3/4 size Yamaha acoustic electric guitar guitar with a slimline bosy which looked like a nice guitar so I checked out males and females playing it and sounded very nice so I bought one. Man am I'm so glad I did. I got the sunburst like this one on sale. I was excited as l took it out of the box and went straight to my mancave and started playing it. It was perfecty in tune and for a guitar of this size it's got such a beautiful tone playing ACOUSTIC. So I plugged it in and it's as good as it sounded on YouTube. As an 67 yesr old man who started playing guitar when I was 16 years old, this is a beauty. I recommend this guitar to beginners, anyone with small hands and even people who want a good guitar to take with them without taking up much space in your car. Yep, it's a beaty.
Thanks to Better Music I have an absolute game changer acoustic in my arsenal. Easy to play if you have tiny hands like I have and looks soooo good with the rosewood. It sounds *chefs kiss* and that Sitka top will age like a dream. The electronics are mind-blowing- recording DI-only still sounds like it's in the room. Currently got a lot of spank to it, but you can still hear those bassier notes cut through. It pretty much EQ's itself in the mix (an absolute blessing because acoustic guitars can overpower everything or sound thin), so if you're into recording you will LOVE this guitar. Only lets me do 5 stars but it's easily a 7, possibly an 8 out of 5. :)
Beautiful instrument, but NOT user friendly.. most of the time I love playing it ( Pa4x/76 ) but sometimes I hate it. :nerd::+1::musical_score::notes:
This is a mad sounding amp, BUT, the software issues is driving me insane. What happens is, as you go through backing tracks, it suddenly freezes and the only way to use the amp is by turning ON/OFF. This happens every time and thats why I never even get to use the backing tracks. I sent it for warranty, waited two months for a new PCB board and unfortunately still having the same issue. I'd say even though it sounds good, it definitely isn't worth the money. There are way better options.
Its a very good and easy to use modeller for guitar and bass, has some very good pre sets and is easy to make my own.
I’ve owned a few amps in my time. Most recently had a tonemaster deluxe, still own a Marshall dsl40 and had other all tube combos too - all great amps but lacking in different areas. This one is by far the most rewarding I’ve had. I bought this to fill a fender hole I had after selling the deluxe tonemaster. I was dubious about the 10” speaker and the reviews online about its very bass heavy sound. When I first played it I was a bit disappointed because yes it is bass heavy for hotter humbuckers - the speaker sounded flubby and muffled. I figured this would be an amp only for my strats. I spent some time reading about how to dial it in correctly - putting the volume at least on 5 and not being afraid of rolling up
the bass. Now it sounds very sweet with my les Paul, strat or tele deluxe. The trick -
like all tube amps - is to push the amp and roll back on the guitar’s volume to the level you need it. The bass compensates for the roll off on the guitars volume. The amp takes a tubescreamer well for a bit of drive and loves the big muff for thicker tones. I could totally see this being the amp I keep long after the others have gone. Great service from better music as well.
I've been using EV speakers and power amps (purchased from Better Music) for about 25 years and never had a single problem. The sound quality of the ZX1 series of passive speakers, powered speakers and sub is amazing. Having such a clean powerful sound at every gig is a great feeling and a wise investment. The padded bags are starting to wear out on the inside but the outside of the bags are still good.
Being the owner of two G&L basses already and having the pleasure to play this bass as well ? Very rarely does a instrument get better than its predecessor . Could possibly be my gift from Santa this year ?
These tick a lot of boxes, but not in line with their marketing. Best used as a compliment to studio monitors when mixing or mastering, but certainly get you most of the way there.
These are ideal for tracking guitar, bass, keys, vocals. Not as flat as they say, but certainly give great separation.
The only detractor for me, is the comfort. You really start to feel the clamp pressure at about the 1 - hour mark. Having said that, they are worth enduring the clamp.
I am writing this review after having to replace mine (theft, not build quality), testing many but still landing on the NDH20s.
Even with the comfort issue, I still give these 5 stars.
If you are looking for kit you can easily take anywhere, or if you want to get something for a younger player, this is a solid choice. I purchased this kit over a year ago to use as a kit to play in front of the TV following instructional videos and to have as an option to use in smaller venues like cafes. I like to tune the bass drum wide open, the front head is low-medium and the batter side is medium. I get a nice punchy sound with a Remo Falam Slam Patch and a wooden beater - just don't expect it to sound like a bigger bass drum. The snare drum, I tune medium-high snare side and medium batter side - and for the snare wires, I turn them a half turn more when they touch the snare side without sagging - so not too tight. It's a really nice snare, picks up ghost and grace notes and the rimshots are great.
You get a nice tone out of these poplar drums with the right tuning and drum head combinations. I can recommend Coated Remo Emperors on both the snare and bass drum batter heads, and an Ambassador Hazy on the snare side. The stock resonant bass drum head seems sufficient still now. In smaller venues where noise could be an issue, or maybe you are in a unit or want something more quiet to play on, you could use double-ply mesh heads and lower volume cymbals - even Gen16 cymbals without the triggers - and go for that cafe vibe without deafening patrons or going to war with your neighbours.
Having the cymbal arm add-on accessory attached to the bass drum means even less gear to carry, especially with a hi-hat and crash/ride only setup. I have found the cymbal arm solid enough to support an 18" medium crash/ride with some fairly energetic playing. The pedals, both for the bass drum and the hi-hat, are actually really good - I can happily leave my DW pedals on my primary kit.
Being upfront, there are a few short comings with the kit which Tama could easily fix. The snare stand is not great, so I stopped using that. I now use the mount point on the side of the snare to mount it with a Tama clamp to the hi-hat stand, which is much more sturdy and gave a bonus of even less hardware to carry. The snare throw-off isn't great either if you play a lot of rimshots - Tama could have easily gone with a MUS30A/B setup here, and I will probably replace my throw-off at some point. The throne is not going to suit any player who is tall and/or heavier than 80kg either, and as I am both fairly tall (6 foot) and heavier than 80kg, I had to use a different throne.
Those few issues aside, overall, I think this is a great little kit which can work for you portable and lower volume needs.
It’s exactly what I wanted out of an amp head, it’s extremely versatile! It got to me very quickly as well so I didn’t have to wait long to fully enjoy my new investment!
Sounds seriously good and loud enough for practising at home. Effects are great. It really sounds like an old bassman.
I’m completely in love with this bass. I bought a short scale fender for three times the price as well and am going to sell it as I always end up grabbing the Ibanez instead. It’s perfect, love the sound and the feel.
Good battery life. Great sound quality. Highly recommend for those who want to practice but don't want to carry an amp around.
Amazed at the power from this box. More than enough for home practice and smaller venues. Perfect for me.
