At the heart of the FP-40 is Roland’s Piano Reality Sound Engine, drawing on technology developed for the flagship GP Series grand pianos. It combines premium piano samples with selected modelling technologies to reproduce the detail, resonance and dynamic response of an acoustic piano.

Developed with Skoove, Piano Sphere combines step-by-step lessons, songs, personalised guidance and real-time feedback to make regular practice more engaging. It can create a learning plan around your experience, interests and pace, with material covering technique, theory and sight-reading.

The dedicated Piano Sphere button on the FP-40 provides immediate visual feedback while you play, while streaks and achievement badges encourage regular practice.

100 Songs Included – No Subscription Required

You don’t need an ongoing subscription to start using Piano Sphere. FP-40 owners receive access to three courses and 100 licensed and copyright-free songs, giving you plenty of material to start learning and playing straight away.

An optional Piano Sphere upgrade expands the library to more than 1,000 songs and lessons if you want additional content as you progress.

Slim, Portable Design
