To us, the KH 120 is more than one part of our KH line-up. It’s our first born, who started our monitor portfolio twelve years ago. The reactions from the press and professionals were overwhelmingly enthusiastic. The KH 120 quickly became the reference in high-end nearfield monitoring.

So, what could we possibly add to a perfect monitor that gets five-star ratings all over the world? Our colleagues in the labs looked back at twelve years of R&D progress, smiled and introduced the KH 120 II with dozens of sophisticated improvements. “It is part of the Neumann philosophy to never be satisfied with what has been developed so far,” said Portfolio Manager Stephan Mauer, “That is why we continue to develop, optimize, and make things even more perfect.”

One major improvement is DSP driven electronics, which allows for phase linear crossovers and Automatic Monitor Alignment via Neumann’s revolutionary MA 1. All acoustic parameters have been improved as well. The new version comes with even less distortion, deeper bass, higher max. SPL and an even better resolution. The redesigned cabinet is now made from MDF, which is a more sustainable material with even better rigidity than the aluminum used previously. The woofer features a completely new design. The Mathematically Modeled Dispersion (MMD™) waveguide was adopted to the new cabinet design. And there are dozens of additional improvements, not to mention the patent-pending amplifier technology that allows for superior audio performance with the energy efficiency of Class D. The new series also includes AES67 options and is available in anthracite and white.

The KH 120 II is a powerful update to an application that has seen strong growth over the last years: Nearfield monitoring is key not only for broadcast, OB vans, and project or recording studios, but also in streaming events and live recordings where audio experts need to get the best out of ever-changing work environments.
