Complete Reason Integration

Using Panorama P4 with Reason is a whole new experience. It takes just one button press to completely reconfigure Panorama P4 and switch between controlling Reason's mixer, instruments or transport. It's like having multiple control surfaces in one, with all the benefits of complete integration. Popup menus give deep access to all areas with parameters pre-assigned in a logical way. Every single device is mapped with parameter names and values all clearly visible in the display. Panorama P4 is the closest you get to operate Reason, as if it's hardware.

Internal Mode

If that's not enough, a 4th mode gives you access to all the additional internal options so you can set up presets for any DAW or control external MIDI hardware. Every one of the 93 real-time controls can be programmed to send MIDI messages in Panorama P4's Internal mode. Programming is straight forward with all parameters clearly visible, at the same time, on the beautiful 3.5" TFT display. Better still, the changes you make are instantaneous so you can check the result immediately or even program dynamically as you work.

Extended Dedicated Transport

All main transport functions are available at any time via 11 dedicated transport buttons, giving you dedicated button access to: L/R locator positions, Undo, Click on/off, Recording Mode, Cycle on/off, Rewind, Forward, Stop, Play and Record.

The 3 Reason modes automatically map the transport buttons and even send transport messages to a ReWired DAW.

Amazing Pads

12 velocity and pressure-sensitive pads with choice of 7 velocity curves make all the difference for percussive performances. The pads are unbelievably easy to program using the "Learn Note" function. Press a pad, press a key...it's that easy. The "Velocity Spread" feature quickly spreads one note across all 12 pads, each with its own fixed velocity, making it easier to create consistent and nuanced dynamics. The "Scale-Function" assigns each pad to pitches within any of the pre-defined 30+ scales. A quick and easy way to completely change pad assignments, this is great for percussive performances with any keyboard sound, while freely changing intervals or transposing the whole set on the fly. Reason devices such as ReDrum, Dr. Octo Rex and Kong are of course automatically assigned to pads in Panorama P4's Instrument mode with an additional 4 virtual pads available, when needed.

Reason Channel Controls

Regardless of which Reason mode you are in or how deep you are in a menu, you always have instant access to volume, solo and mute controls for the current mixer channel. The 100mm ALPS fader and 2 LED buttons can be locked to a specific mixer channel or simply follow your track selection. Better still, the 100mm ALPS fader is motorized so its position updates automatically to match the virtual Reason mixer*. By entering the dedicated Fader menu you can even use the data encoder to control pan or aux send parameters or change the fader assignment to control Master or Control Room. All without affecting whatever else you are doing.

ASCII/QWERTY Macros

Imagine sending out copy, move L/R location points and paste commands or open your editor and magnify to max, just by pressing one button. The unique ASCII/QWERTY macro feature can make that happen by sending up to 8 keystroke commands in one sequence from Panorama P4 to your computer. With any one of Panorama P4's 36 programmable buttons and 12 pads assignable to macros, this feature can really spark some time saving and interesting workflow ideas.

Presets and Maps

If you are a Reason user, we've done the hard work for you so there is little to no setup required to get going. But you may need presets for a ReWired DAW, VI or other soft/hardware using Panorama P4's Internal mode. Your own settings are stored in non-volatile memory and retained even when Panorama P4 is switched off. In addition, there is plenty of storage space. 20 preset locations store settings for 16 encoders, 9 faders and 10 buttons with an additional 5 keyboard, 10 F-Keys and 20 Pad map locations storing all settings for their respective functional area. Preset can be loaded with any combination of maps plus you can load maps independently without affecting your other assignments.
