Combining original-era Fender style with modern refinements including a roasted body and neck, the Limited Edition ’58 Special Strat® Journeyman Relic® could only have been created by the visionaries of the Fender Custom Shop.
The two-piece select roasted alder body has an off-center seam and resonates like a vintage instrument while featuring a darkly refined new look, complemented by a roasted 4A flame maple neck with a “soft-V” profile. The 7.25”-9.5” vintage compound-radius fingerboard has mother-of-pearl dot position markers and 21 narrow tall frets. The gold anodized pickguard holds three hand-wound Fat ’50s pickups with five-way switching and Postmodern Fat ’50s wiring (including Greasebucket™ tone circuit, which rolls off highs without adding bass or losing midrange). Other features include vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut, and “wing” string tree. Includes optional parchment pickguard and backplate, deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
