I bought this without trying it first. I needed a travel bass that would fit into my suitcase with the neck and body separated, and there are very few choices available.
After a couple of months and taking it on trips to four countries...
It's a lot heavier (3kg) than you'd expect from a 'Carry-on' instrument. I have a full 30.5" short scale bass that weighs less. The body wood is heavy.
Sounds good plugged in, but sounds dreadful acoustically.
The strings feel heavy - both gauge and tension. I need to try lighter strings to make it more playable, but I'm not sure what string options there are for a 23.46" bass...
The nut isn't glued in place so it fell off the first time I detuned the strings.
It may be that the body wood and string choices were made to prioritize tone, but to me and probably most people, the appeal of this bass is its size and portability.
I'm not going to gig this bass, it's only for practicing in hotel rooms, so I'd take the slight compromise on tine in favour of weight and playability.
