AER Amp Three 2x8" Bass Amp Combo

I had the, arguably, unrealistic expectation that I could get an upgrade from my tc electronic bg250-112 combo that would be smaller in size yet uncompromising and superior tone. Bought this based on the positive- albeit limited - reviews online and it did not disappoint! I was hesitant at first given it didn't have the same amount of attention and artist backing of other big names like GK (not that I've had the opportunity to try a GK yet), but I have zero regrets about my decision.
To be honest, my first reaction was "this thing sounds terrible!". But within 5-10 minutes of playing that quickly became the realisation that it was ME that sounded terrible and that is PRECISELY what a good instrument/amp should do in my book. Reveal deficiencies to elevate your playing. Already given me many things to work on with my technique which my old amp concealed!
This amp is clear, responsive and fast with the 2x8s! I'm not usually a slap player but I've enjoyed practicing that more w this amp. Its a crisp and defined sound without loss of a deep supportive low end.
It is very transparent in a musical way. A few times I've rolled my volume off just to practice a few things quietly without disturbing the household and recall thinking as I heard the bass acoustically that this sounds so much like what's coming out the amp only softer. Which seems silly to say but thats what you want!
And man is this thing loud! Still haven't been able to turn the volume knob up past 8 o'clock without fear of disturbing the neighbours. In comparison, w the TC combo amp I'd normally have it dimed to reach the same volume. My house is already rattling when I have the volume at 9 oclock and there's no loss of clarity. I have no doubt at all that this will keep up with a full band and easily shake an auditorium (unless you play in a band that's gonna leave you deaf before you turn 40).
I haven't toyed with the eq too much as I usually leave everything dimed as a preference and I've been able to achieve the adjustments I need just w the bass boost and colour switches.
All fears that this would only serve as a high quality practice amp have been allayed. This is a beast of an amp. Don't for a moment be fooled by its size. Yes it carries a premium price tag compared to other amps this size but it is in a totally different league in terms of build quality, sound quality and volume, all whilst remaining super portable.
