Description
Like all Schreiber bassoons, the S13 is made from matured alpine mountain maple and varnished with transparent polyurethane to enhance the wood’s natural beauty. Made in Germany, the addition of epoxy resin lining in the wing and boot joint through to the low Ab protects the instrument from moisture-induced wood rot, while metal tenon caps on the wing and long joints and brass boot joint socket liners add to the S13’s durability.
The short-reach S13’s ergonomically adapted silver-plated keywork is especially conceived for musicians with small hands. The S13 features a 22 key set up with higher positioned and lengthened levers on the wing and long joints for easy reach to all keys, facilitating excellent technique and intonation.
Supplied with two hand-hammered, silver-plated nickel KER crooks, lengths 1 and 2, in a lightweight, durable case with a Cordura cover and latches.
