AMPERE is a discrete transistor based preamp based on a late 60s mic preamp from reel to reel tape machines. It features metal can silicon transistors, a 2-band baxandall EQ, bias control and a transformer output stage.
The pedal covers a lot of ground but has a distinct vintage “direct” sound as you would from a preamp circuit of this era. It sounds great as a simple boost or gain to stack with other pedals / amps, but also works well as an overdrive or even a fuzz when pushed. Use the bias control to adjust the headroom and texture, this also gives a "collapse" kind of effect reacting to heavy pick attack or high input signal, where the transistors overload and react to the extra voltage. It's very fun to play around with, even used after time based effects like reverb.
Completely hand built by Little Lightning Devices right here in Canberra.
True bypass design and uses standard 9v DC (centre negative) power supplies only *not included.
