Over two years of research and prototyping has resulted in the new HA-CS range of Höfner acoustics, all handmade in Germany. Our aim has been to produce a distinctive new acoustic that delivers high volume together with exceptional tone. Our careful design of internal bracing together with excellent tone-woods has achieved this aim. We also aimed to bring that classic tone and style from the 1920s and 30s, heard on many famous delta-blues recordings. The smaller body shape together plus the neck design and slotted headstock brings both the look and sound of a vintage acoustic. The body and top project the sound very strongly, making this one of the loudest acoustics available, the dark woody bass tones running under the shining highs, all are clearly audible throughout the tonal range.

With a nut width of 45mm the guitar is ideal for finger picking and strumming, the neck width feels acceptable to both classical and electric guitarist.

The perfect synthesis of simplicity and luxury is achieved with the outstanding combination of a carefully selected cedar top with a body made from breath-taking laurel wood and the timber for the fingerboard is a selection of fine and very old ebony.

Neck, back and sides employ a sturdy satin varnish whereas the top is sealed with a wafer-thin finish from natural resins.

The active pickup system is fitted without any opening in the sides or back to preserve the subtle and natural aesthetics and the tone of the instrument. A small thumbwheel for volume control is discretely hidden at the side of the sound hole.
