Description
Handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, the Songwriter Recording Artist features a thermally aged Sitka spruce top paired with rosewood back and sides. Its 25.5" scale mahogany neck features a comfortable Round profile and is topped with a bound ebony fretboard carrying 20 standard frets and elegant mother-of-pearl diamond eye inlays. A compound dovetail neck joint, secured with hot hide glue, maximizes stability and tonal transfer between the neck and body. The bound headstock is faced with rosewood veneer and adorned with a mother-of-pearl Gibson logo and crown inlay. Premium appointments include a bone nut, gold Grover open-back tuning machines, an ebony bridge fitted with a bone saddle and TUSQ bridge pins, and mother-of-pearl arrow inlays. A custom line tortoise pickguard protects the top, while a wide abalone rosette adds an eye-catching finishing touch.
The Songwriter Recording Artist comes equipped with Gibson's exclusive, custom-voiced Baggs HiFi DNA pickup system. This active electronics package utilizes two lightweight sensors mounted to the internal bridge plate, each paired with its own optimized preamp to capture a natural, full-range amplified acoustic sound. The system faithfully conveys the guitar's unique character when plugged in while leaving its acoustic voice unaffected, and delivers gain-before-feedback performance comparable to under-saddle pickup designs. Convenient soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls provide quick adjustments during performance while remaining virtually invisible to the audience.
Includes a Gibson hardshell case for dependable protection during travel.
