Description

The enduring legacy of Gibson's "King of the Flat-Tops" continues with the SJ-200™ Standard. Since its introduction in 1937, the SJ-200 has stood apart as one of the world's most recognizable and influential acoustic guitars, celebrated for its commanding voice, elegant design, and unmistakable presence. For generations, it has been the instrument of choice for country icons, folk artists, and rock legends, shaping countless recordings while gracing stages around the globe.

Built with AAA figured maple back and sides and topped with solid Sitka spruce, the SJ-200 Standard delivers the bold, resonant voice and impressive projection players have come to expect from this legendary model. Traditional scalloped X-bracing enhances its tonal response, while a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish highlights the instrument's beauty. The two-piece maple neck with walnut centre stringer features a comfortable Round profile, and a bound rosewood fretboard with 20 standard frets and mother-of-pearl graduated crown inlays completes one of the model's most iconic visual signatures.

Premium hardware includes the bound headstock with Gibson's classic logo and crown inlays, gold Grover® Rotomatic® tuners, TUSQ® nut, the legendary SJ-200 pickguard, and the distinctive two-bar rosewood Moustache™ bridge with TUSQ saddle and matching bridge pins.

Now featuring the Gibson-exclusive, custom-voiced Baggs HiFi DNA™ pickup system, the SJ-200 Standard faithfully captures the guitar's powerful acoustic character and playing dynamics with remarkable authenticity when amplified. This active design uses two lightweight sensors mounted to the internal bridge plate paired with individually optimized preamps to produce a rich, natural amplified tone. The system preserves the guitar's inherent personality while leaving its unplugged sound unaffected and delivers feedback resistance comparable to under-saddle pickup designs. Convenient soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls allow quick adjustments during performance.

A Gibson hardshell case is included, ensuring the SJ-200 Standard is ready for the stage, studio, and every destination in between.
