 The enduring legacy of Gibson's "King of the Flat-Tops" continues with the SJ-200™ Original. Since its debut in 1937, the SJ-200 has stood as a benchmark for both visual elegance and commanding acoustic tone. Now featuring the Gibson-exclusive, custom-voiced Baggs HiFi DNA™ pickup system, it captures the guitar's powerful character and the subtle details of every performance with remarkable authenticity when amplified.

Built with a solid Sitka spruce top and flame maple back and sides, the SJ-200 Original produces a bold, projecting voice with exceptional clarity. Appointments inspired by Gibson's Golden Era reflect its historic roots, while a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish, gold hardware and refined decorative elements underscore the model's renowned sophistication. The two-piece maple neck features a comfortable rounded profile and is topped with a rosewood fretboard carrying 20 standard frets and mother-of-pearl graduated crown inlays, one of the instrument's most recognisable visual signatures.

The headstock showcases the Gibson logo and crown in mother-of-pearl inlays, while gold Gotoh Keystone tuners and a bone nut provide dependable tuning stability. An engraved tortoiseshell-coloured SJ-200 pickguard complements the carved four-bar Moustache bridge, crafted from rosewood and fitted with a bone saddle and TUSQ bridge pins.

At the heart of the SJ-200 Original is the Gibson-exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA pickup system. This active design employs two lightweight sensors mounted to the internal bridge plate, paired with individually optimized preamps to reproduce a rich, natural amplified acoustic sound. The system preserves the guitar's unique voice without affecting its unplugged performance, while delivering gain-before-feedback performance comparable to an under-saddle pickup. Soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls allow quick adjustments while playing. A Gibson hardshell case is included.
