Description

 Few acoustic guitars have made an impact like the J-45—the most-recorded guitar in history. Introduced in 1942 and affectionately known as "The Workhorse," it stands at the heart of Gibson's acoustic legacy. Defined by its round-shoulder dreadnought body, warm low end, and strong projection, the J-45 continues to shape modern music. The Gibson J-45 Standard features impressive mids and focused, punchy bass, now enhanced with Gibson-exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA electronics for exceptional amplified sound.

Crafted with a solid Sitka spruce top paired with solid mahogany sides, this instrument delivers the unmistakable tone heard across decades of recordings. Multi-ply binding accents the top, while single-ply binding finishes the back. The mahogany neck features a fast, comfortable SlimTaper profile and joins the body with a compound dovetail joint and hot hide glue, enhancing sustain and resonance. The rosewood fretboard carries 20 standard frets inlaid with mother-of-pearl dots, while premium Grover Rotomatic tuners and a TUSQ nut at the headstock ensure smooth performance and dependable tuning stability.

A rosewood belly-up bridge fitted with a TUSQ saddle and bridge pins anchors the strings. The teardrop tortoiseshell pickguard and gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish complete the timeless aesthetic.

The all-new Baggs HiFi DNA pickup system utilizes two lightweight sensors mounted to the internal bridge plate, each with its own optimized preamp. This active design produces a natural, full-bodied amplified tone that faithfully represents the guitar's character without altering its unplugged voice. Discreet soundhole-mounted controls for volume and tone allow quick adjustments while remaining virtually unseen.

Supplied with a hardshell case, the J-45 Standard is ready for stage and studio use.
