Description
The Gibson Hummingbird Standard is handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, with a square-shoulder body of solid mahogany back and sides, topped with solid Sitka spruce reinforced with scalloped X-bracing. Multi-ply binding frames both top and back, finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer. The iconic Hummingbird graphics on the pickguard make this model instantly recognizable.
The mahogany neck features a comfortable Round profile, bound rosewood fretboard with 20 standard frets, and mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays. A compound dovetail neck joint, constructed with hot hide glue, ensures durability. The reverse-belly rosewood bridge, TUSQ® nut, saddle, and bridge pins pair with Grover® Rotomatic® tuners for solid tuning stability.
Now equipped with Gibson's exclusive Baggs™ HiFi DNA™ pickup system, this acoustic delivers full-bodied amplified tone without impacting unamplified sound. Two lightweight sensors on the internal bridge plate work with optimized individual preamps, offering gain-before-feedback comparable to under-saddle pickups. Soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls provide quick, subtle access while playing.
A favourite of performing and recording musicians for over six decades, the Hummingbird arrives stage and studio-ready in a Gibson hardshell case. Available in right and left-handed versions.
