THE SOUND OF BRITISH CHIME
The VX-30 Combo is built around two independent voices that can be used individually or blended together to create sounds unavailable on the original vintage designs.

The Brilliant channel delivers the unmistakable sparkle clarity, and harmonic richness that made British Top Boost amplifiers legendary. Independent Treble, Bass and Volume controls let you dial in everything from pristine cleans to rich, edge-of-breakup tones with exceptional articulation and dynamic response.

The Normal channel features a unique three-position Voice switch that recreates the three distinct factory voicings offered on the vintage originals. Choose the articulate TREBLE voice for crisp, open cleans, the fuller BASS voice for thicker low-end character and added body or the classic NORMAL voice for warm, woody response.

Unlike the vintage amplifiers that inspired it, the VX-30 Combo places both channels in phase, allowing them to be blended, just like jumping the inputs on a classic Plexi. Dial in as much Brilliant or Normal channel as you like, creating entirely new textures while preserving the unmistakable voice of each circuit. From crystalline cleans with added warmth to harmonically rich overdrive with incredible dimensionality, the blending capability dramatically expands the tonal palette.

A Cut control shapes the power amp's high-frequency response, while the Master Volume Control (M.V.C.) allows the cathode-biased EL84 output stage to be pushed into its sweet spot at more manageable listening levels - all without sacrificing the amp's unmistakable character.

The VX-30 Combo is loaded with genuine (and expensive) Celestion Alnico Blue speakers - the same legendary drivers that gave the original amplifiers their voice. Selected by Dave Friedman for their bell-like chime, musical compression and remarkable touch sensitivity, the Celestion Alnico Blues are not an approximation of the classic British sound - they are an essential part of it.
