Dave "Brownsound" Baksh is co-lead guitarist and background vocalist with SUM41.
The Canadian band was formed in 1996 and went on to become one of the worlds leading rock/pop punk bands.
After over 25 years of relentless touring, making records and being constantly humbled by their ever growing audience the group continues to thrive doing what they love. Quite simply, Sum 41 is a true rock band, uncompromising and honest with no intention of slowing down.
Solid-Body Construction
The Alliance Series Dave Baksh features a solid alder body in combination with a one-piece maple neck and rosewood fretboard delivering outstanding clarity and attack and a tight low-end frequency response.
Pickups
Three premium Duesenberg pickups provide extraordinary tonal flexibility. The two Singlecoils deliver great transparency and the LittleToaster at the bridge is known for its sparkling trebles and wide tonal range.
Plek Processed
A pleked fretboard guarantees perfectly level frets. This is the basis for our fret polishing and setup work all done by hand that eventually makes our instruments play like nothing you have ever played before.
»The LittleToaster handles anything I throw at it. Tone wise it has a beautiful glassy top, a warm round middle and a classy bottom. Just like me.«
This shimmering White-Sparkle instrument is made for the spotlight.
The pickups deliver a wide variety of tonal options and the additional kill-switch, located between the volume and tone control, allows you to instantly switch the instrument off or even create some unusual effects. Last but not least, the Duesenberg design "Wrapper"-Tailpiece brings a super-tight attack and easy string changes to the table.
The instrument is littered with references to Dave's personal taste and history. The laser-etched lion heads on the pickup controls refer to his Indian descent, while the Magpie on the 12th fret and the two white stripes on the pickguard are a nod to his favourite soccer club.
»Honesty is important to me. Duesenberg refuse to make a cheap guitar and then stamp an artist’s name on it in order to profit. What you’re buying is what I play and I hope this guitar makes you as happy as it makes me.«
The hardware on this Alliance Instrument is Nickel plated.
When compared to regular Chrome finishes, Nickel has a beautiful warm and elegant sheen and ages naturally over time. It's the way things were done before Chrome became the standard. If you don't want the hardware on your instrument to age, we recommend regular cleaning.
