I have 3 bass amps. A Fender Rumble 40 and a vintage Marshall 3540 with 4×10 matching cabinet. I needed something more compact to fit in my practice space and portable in case I need to move it. The footprint is just a little bigger than the Rumble with the Evo 3 2x12 matching cabinet. As far as performance and sound goes, this thing is great. It's bone-crushingly loud for one, but the inclusion of compression and a decent sounding drive allows me to get awesome tone out of my basses. I mostly play a passive p bass with flatwounds, and you can tweak it just right. And on my Yamaha BB PJ with roundwounds, much the same. In active, I would recommend turning the horn off. I would recommend this head for anyone who plays bass, it's features would suit a pro player, but even anyone who wants a comprehensive, compact unit the punches well above its weight. And the engineering in this amp has been designed so every component is serviceable separately not to mention a great warranty. I researched many amps before I arrived at this one and I'm not disappointed. Better Music was great in their communication and swift in delivery. 5 stars.
