Developed in partnership between Roland and Drum Workshop (DW), DrumLink is a powerful wireless ecosystem that transforms how electronic drummers connect and perform. Whether you have a Roland V-Drums kit or a hybrid acoustic-electronic configuration, the modular DrumLink system streamlines connectivity for faster setup and a cleaner look.

What is DrumLink?

Welcome to the Future of Wireless Drumming

DrumLink is a new wireless triggering technology for electronic pads, cymbals, and drum triggers that simplifies your rig. This proprietary system is designed specifically for drumming applications, delivering lightning-fast response and rock-solid performance that feels identical to analog triggering. Up to 30 active instruments are supported simultaneously,* unlocking a growing range of hybrid, electronic, and software-based drumming setups.

*The number of available instruments will vary depending on the connected sound module.

How It Works

From Trigger to Tone Without the Tangle

Roland offers a wide range of products with analog trigger outputs that normally require long cables to connect them to trigger inputs on the sound source. DrumLink eliminates these extended cable runs with compact wireless transmitter units mounted on or near each pad, which are connected locally with very short cables. Signals from multiple transmitters are captured with a high-performance wireless receiver that hooks up to a compatible sound module or computer via a single USB-C or MIDI cable.

Build Your Wireless Setup

Wireless in a Snap

DrumLink is a modular system that grows with you. Start with what you need now and add more components as your setup expands.

WT-10 Wireless Trigger Adapter

The WT-10 converts the analog trigger outputs on compatible Roland drum/cymbal pads and acoustic drum triggers to wireless signals. Two inputs support single- and dual-trigger pads, allowing you to connect two different pads to one unit. A single cymbal with two outputs can be connected for bow/bell/edge triggering, and hi-hat pads with two trigger/control outputs are also supported. The integrated mount is highly adjustable, enabling secure and flexible attachment to drum/pad rims, bass drum hoops, and cymbal/hi-hat stands. WT-10 units are powered by two AA alkaline batteries, which provide up to six months of operation in typical applications.

DH-10 DrumLink Hub

The compact DH-10 DrumLink Hub captures trigger signals from up to 15 WT-10 units.* A USB-C connection to a Roland sound module or computer provides power. The DH-10 also has a TRS MIDI output for sending trigger signals to any sound source that receives MIDI note messages and CC data. When using MIDI, the DH-10 can be powered via a standard 5-volt USB phone charger (150 mA minimum power required).

*The number of supported units will vary depending on the connected sound module.

V-Cymbal Pack for DWe Convertible Drums

The 4CY-4WT-01 DrumLink Cymbal Pack provides a ready-made solution for outfitting a DWe acoustic-electronic convertible drum set with Roland’s leading electronic cymbals. When played, these expressive pads deliver authentic feel, response, and movement, coupled with very low in-room noise levels. This bundle includes three CY-16R-T crash/ride pads, one VH-10 V-Hi-Hat pad, and four WT-10 Wireless Trigger Adapters that communicate with your kit's DWe DrumLink Wireless Hub.

Why Choose DrumLink?

An Instant Upgrade for Any Setup

No matter what kind of electronic drumming rig you play, DrumLink will make your life easier.

Wireless Triggering for V-Drums

Convert your V-Drums drum set to a wireless pad configuration, creating a clean and decluttered profile that increases playing freedom and decreases setup and teardown time.

Quiet Cymbals for DWe Players

Roland V-Cymbals and WT-10 units offer seamless communication with the wireless connection interface in DWe acoustic-electronic convertible drum sets, reducing in-room cymbal volume without sacrificing natural acoustic playability.

Smoother Workflows with Hybrid Setups

When using Roland products such as the SPD-SX PRO Sampling Pad, RT series acoustic drum triggers, or the popular BT-1 Bar Trigger Pad, the DrumLink system eliminates long cable connections to make your setup cleaner and more efficient.

FAQs

Commonly Asked DrumLink Questions

Have questions? We have the answers.

Will DrumLink work with my V-Drums module?

Drumlink works with the V71, TD-50X, and TD-27 V-Drums sound modules. These modules have digital pad inputs, and older modules are not supported. One digital pad input is required to power the DH-10 DrumLink Hub and receive wireless trigger signals from the DH-10’s USB output.

Do I need to give up a digital pad input on my V71, TD-50X, or TD-27 module to use DrumLink?

No. It’s possible to send trigger data from a DH-10 DrumLink hub to a Roland drum sound module via a BOSS MIDI cable such as the BMIDI-1-35 or BMIDI-5-35. This will allow you to use all digital pad inputs on the module. Basic trigger performance is identical with MIDI, but some functionality is limited. You cannot adjust trigger parameters or monitor the battery status within the module when using the MIDI connection.

Are Roland digital pads compatible with DrumLink?

No. The DrumLink system converts the 1/4-inch analog trigger outputs on various Roland products to wireless signals. Roland pads such as the PD-14DSX digital snare, VH-14D digital hi-hat, and CY-18DR digital ride feature advanced multi-sensor systems and high-speed digital trigger outputs, making them incompatible with DrumLink.

Can I use DrumLink with my SPD-SX PRO?

Yes. The SPD-SX PRO is compatible with the Drumlink system via a system update. For the latest system software, visit the Downloads tab on the SPD-SX PRO product page.

What is the transmission range and latency?

DrumLink uses proprietary 2.4 GHz wireless connection technology with extremely low latency. The transmission range is up to 10 m/32 ft. (line of sight) before any perceptible latency is felt. Performance may vary due to local conditions.

How do I update the system software on my product for DrumLink?

Supported Roland products may require a system software update before they can be used with DrumLink. To update your product, visit the Downloads tab on its dedicated page on Roland.com.

What if I only want to add wireless cymbals?

No problem. The flexible DrumLink system can be used with cymbals only, pads only, or any combination. However, Roland digital pads are not supported due to their unique sensor systems.

How is the DrumLink system powered?

WT-10 transmitter units are powered by two AA alkaline batteries. The DH-10 receiver can be powered by a USB-C connection to a Roland sound module or computer. The Roland sound module displays DrumLink connection status and WT-10 battery life. When using the TRS MIDI output on the DH-10, power can be provided via a standard 5-volt USB phone charger (150 mA minimum power required).

How long will the batteries last in the WT-10?

The WT-10 only sends a trigger signal when a pad is struck and consumes very little power when not in use. As such, no power on/off switch is required, and two AA alkaline batteries will last up to six months under most circumstances. When the DH-10 receiver is connected to the Roland sound module via USB, battery levels for WT-10 units can be monitored on the module. When connecting the DH-10 to a computer via USB, battery levels can be monitored with the DWe Control app.
