German Beech offers a full, warm tone with evenly balanced lows, mids and highs, tremendous projection, tone and dynamics.

SQ² - the most complete state of-the-art custom drums available. Build only by hand from master craftsmen, no drum is like another. Anything mounted to an SQ² drum has to resemble the extremely high esthetic qualities of this system. Therefore SONOR offers three types of metal finishing - 24k gold, chrome and ruthenium (black plated).

Advanced Projection System (APS)

The patented ADVANCED PROJECTION SYSTEM (APS) prevents direct contact between wood and metal, and supports the powerful SONOR sustain.

SQ² configuration

To VIEW AND ALTER AN SQ² CONFIGURATION, go to the SQ² Configurator website and click ‘find unique print id (UPID)’. Enter your UPID number and click ‘view configuration’. A PDF file opens showing the related configuration. Go back to the Configurator site and click ‘drums’ to import the configuration. Now you can alter the configuration by changing the chosen country, add additional drums to the configuration etc.

Dual Glide System

The DUAL GLIDE SYSTEM represents a snare strainer mechanism and is incorporated into the SQ² drum system. The strainer mechanism features a technically perfected snare wire engage-and-release system, along with great adjustability and a solid look and feel.

Total Acoustic Resonance (T.A.R.)

Enables vibration free mounting for a pure tone and maximum sustain with unmatched projection; AcoustiGate allows to fine-tune your sonic fingerprint by turning a dial.

TuneSafe

Right in tune, 100% of the time with a patented system that prevents tension rods from loosening, giving maximum tuning stability, even under extreme environments.

Optimum Shell Technology (O.S.T.)

O.S.T. is a well-figured-out process which you can see and hear in all our shells we make in our headquarters in Germany. Applying best German engineering since 1875, this process has been constantly optimized over the years to include methods and technologies like O.S.M., CLTF and T.A.R.
