Description

Global guitar manufacturer Cort, together with Matthew Bellamy, the lead guitarist of the rock band Muse, and Manson Guitar Works are pleased to announce an updated and expanded range for the award winning META Series MBM model. The MBM-2 range includes revised body contouring - more closely aligned to Bellamy’s stage guitars, and all design and development work has been completed and personally overseen by Manson Guitar Works.

MBM-2 Sustainiac features a factory fitted USA Sustainiac Sustainer option and a new color, Meta-Blue, in striking high gloss finish, whilst other features that won the MBM-1 many accolades remain as before; sleek maple neck with satin finish for the ultimate played-in feel, a solid basswood body, special Manson designed bridge humbucker and a kill button that allows a wide range of guitar effects to be created by the player without resorting to outboard effects. The headstock design features Bellamy’s distinct signature together with the Manson logo.

Features

Manson Guitar Works®

Manson Guitar Works is an internationally respected custom guitar builder in the U.K. with over 35 years of experience and is known for its reputation for innovation and quality. Founded by highly respected luthier Hugh Manson and now under the ownership of Matthew Bellamy and existing CEO Adrian Ashton, the company has built instruments for a wide range of global superstars.

Manson® Humbucker & Sustainiac® Pickup

The new MBM-2H-SUS features a unique Sustainiac unit in the neck position that enables virtually endless sustain. It does this by picking up a signal from the bridge pickup and uses the signal to drive the drivers of the Sustainiac unit in the neck position, which creates a magnetic field that forces the guitar strings to vibrate indefinitely. It’s great for both practical and experimental uses, and it works as an active neck pickup when Sustainiac function is not engaged.
1 Volume & 1 Tone, 3 Way Switch

The controls on the MBM-2H-SUS are simple while versatile. There is a single volume control, master tone and a three way switch. This controls the 2 humbucker pickup combination. It all works together with the kill button and the overall instrument design to give you a highly creative and great sounding instrument.

2 Mini Toggle Switches for Sustainiac®

Switch 1: On/Off
Switch 2: Mode Selection
- Position 1: Normal Mode
- Position 2: MIX of Normal and Harmonic Mode
- Position 3: Harmonic Mode (Plucked notes morph into high harmonic vibration mode)

Kill Button

The MBM-2H-SUS features a discrete kill button allowing you to creatively expand the wide range of sounds already available.

Soft V Neck Profile

The Manson neck profile and shape has consistently received praise around the globe in many five star reviews. To maintain that competitive edge the new MBM-2H-SUS features the Manson soft V profile with a satin finish to give an immediate played-in feel. It’s the reason we refer to it as Meta Series; what has gone before was of excellence, but our philosophy is to transcend to a better product whilst referencing everything that existed before
Compound Radius Fingerboard (12-15.75”)

A deluxe feature for players who like to transition from easy chording on the low register to high-speed soloing and enhanced string-bending on the upper register, the compound radius facilitates easier playability so you can focus on your playing.

Spoke Nut Hotrod Truss Rod

The spoke nut Hotrod truss rod ensures smooth and precise setting of the neck bow. Often overlooked by many guitarists, the neck bow (or relief) is very critical for the best possible playability. This spoke nut truss rod adjustment feature allows the player to dial in the exact amount of neck bow depending on the player’s technique and playing style.
Cort® Staggered Locking Machineheads

The deluxe locking machine heads offer precise and reliable tuning as well as easier and quicker string changes.

Ergonomic Body Contour

The body styling on the META Series guitars was designed by Hugh Manson, with him considering each detail for these instruments. Both comfort and appearance was enhanced with an elegantly contoured arm cut on the top. The back has a tummy cut as a key comfort evolution feature. This modification to the back has been carefully laid out on the bodies of the META Series guitars for maximum comfort without removing unnecessary amounts of wood. The lines of the Manson designed body are graceful for aesthetic beauty as well as for ergonomic considerations.
