With a minimalist design, focused on clean, straight lines, the new Privia range steps away from traditional curved appearances of conventional pianos. All models share a fundamental modern design, including a slim body, high quality speaker fabric and frame-pipes (lyre & pedal board, PX-S7000) as well as the same transparent music stand that helps realise our aim of blending in with any environment (PX-S6000/7000).

What sets the PX-S6000 & PX-S7000 apart?

A key difference setting the PX-S7000 apart is the fully integrated wood grain stand and pedals, giving it the aesthetic qualities of a full-scale piano right from the start. Whereas, the PX-S6000 model features a composite design that includes a stylish wood grain finish on the main body with the stand.

Sophisticated blend:

Unlike traditional digital pianos the new PX-S range is purposefully designed to sit away from the wall and to look stylish from any angle, seamlessly blending into any environment.

Careful consideration has been taken to ensure all models in the range find a balance of harmonising with their surroundings.

In addition to a glossy black and white, the PX-S7000 uses three unique variations of what we like to call “Harmonious Mustard” and is especially unique. Elegant and natural, this colour was developed for its ability to seamlessly blend into a wide range of stylish living spaces.

To emphasise a sense of luxury, the PX-S7000 also features a polished Grand Piano style finish to both the sides of the body and a textured ivory key finish.

The PX-S6000 is a composite design and can be used with or without a stand (CS90P stand sold separately). The colouring combines a sleek dark brown wood grain with a glossy black finish making it easy to blend with surrounding furniture.

The Spacial Sound System is a newly developed proprietary technology, which allows you to freely manipulate the field of sound.

What does this mean in terms of performance?

The PX-S6000 and PX-S7000 comes with four full-range speakers & 4 x 8W amplifiers, contained in a highly durable resin and wood hybrid casing that helps to produce a clear yet powerful sound that minimised distortion.

Side Enhancing Diffusers are equipped to the outer speakers which help to produce a wide-ranging sound.

You can freely adjust the output frequency, volume and surround of the sound-level and position of the four speakers to give you exceptional control over the sound as you play.

These combined elements have allowed us to create a natural field of sound that was not possible with previous conventional stereo technology, greatly improving the audio experience for both the player and audience.

Piano Positioning Function
By taking advantage of the Spacial Sound System, the field of sound can be adjusted using the Piano Position function, which alters how the sound is emitted from the four speakers based on where you are using the piano. This gives you unprecedented freedom to use your piano where best suits your lifestyle.

You can choose between four different built-in models (piano positions):

Standard is the default and most common setting and assumes you are playing on a stand.
Wall: Traditionally, when a piano is played near a wall, the bass can become harder to hear and because the sound is channelled toward the centre, reflected sounds can cause multiple peaks in the frequency. This setting utilises the Spatial Sound System and four speakers to prevent this and give you optimum sound quality even when playing against a wall.
Centre is designed for when playing in the middle of the room or a group of people. The reflected sound is reduced and the high frequencies and the spread of sound to both sides is compensated for, meaning listeners can enjoy the same high sound quality regardless of their position around the piano.
Table helps to adjust for the strong peaks and changes in sound caused by reflecting against the surface when placed on a table.
By using these four different Piano Position modes you can experience an unrivalled degree of freedom that lets you use the piano anywhere in the room without ever compromising the sound quality.

Multi-dimensional Morphing AiR Sound Source
The Distinctive Sound of a Grand Piano

The harmonically rich sound of an acoustic grand piano is produced by a combination of the complex mechanism within the instrument’s large body and the changes in overtone structure from the approximately 230 strings that resonate according to the player’s articulation, musical phrasing and use of the pedals.

Casio’s proprietary Multi-dimensional AiR Sound Source produces the natural, full-bodied sound of a grand piano with incredible detail.

Acoustic Simulator

The new PX-S models deliver a vivid, harmonically rich sound thanks to the dense overtones of each individual string for all 88 keys tuned for its unique speaker system.

Sympathetic resonances can be heard when the damper pedal is pressed and the other strings are free to resonate (damper resonance). Damper noise (the sound of the damper leaving the strings) and key action noise (the mechanical sound unique to acoustic pianos made when keys are pressed softly or when keys are released) are also audible. Touches like these are the secret to the acoustic piano experience.

Acoustic simulations are able to be manipulated by the player
Changes in Timbre Based of the Nuances of the player

The timbre of a note played on an acoustic grand piano changes expressively depending on how the key is played and over time as the note continues to ring.

Casio’s unique Multi-dimensional Morphing Technology produces smooth volume and timbre changes according to key velocity and time (temporal change), allowing players to express the full range of playing styles from gentle pianissimo to powerful fortissimo.

Versatile High-Quality Tones
In addition to the multi-dimensional morphing AiR Sound source, the PX-S range provides the freedom the merge the sounds of world-class grand pianos while also enjoying the rich changes in timbre, unique to acoustics pianos.

Vast amounts of data and input signals are reproduced in real time to recreate the tones of many popular tunes and artists, faithfully recreating not only the sound output but also the responsiveness and performance of the original instruments.

In additional to the wide variety of tones that are already installed, you can use the modification function to fine-tune the individual characteristics of each tone to create your own unique versions, giving you endless creative freedom and expression.

All the classic tunes at your fingertips
Relive your favourite songs from history in your own performance. To enhance your enjoyment even more, you can reproduce piano and electric piano tones found in many famous songs. This means you can not only replicate the characteristics of the instrument, but the effects and texture of the recording can be accurately recreated.

Technology of Playability
Smart Hybrid Hammer Action

All three models are equipped with the Smart Hybrid Hammer Action. This, combined with the latest digital control technology to help reproduce the authentic touch of a grand piano but with the compact style and convenience of a digital instrument.

Emulating the characteristics and resonance of a grand piano, 88-key digital scaling technology is used to control the volume of sound in each keystroke, and the hammer response adjusts the sound’s timing subtly for each key. A first for the PX-S piano range, this action boasts natural spruce keys within the keys themselves.

Key-Off Response

This function digitally controls the timing of muting, based on the movement of the keyboard when the finger is released. For example, when playing the same note repeatedly, each time, the sound will be pronounced clearly even if the key has not returned fully to its resting position.

This helps you to have more freedom and expression when playing. You can adjust the key-off resonance to 3 different levels, allowing you to add either a touch of legato or staccato to best match the song you are playing.
Key-Off Simulator

This helps to faithfully reproduce the difference in release time (the time from when the key is released until the sound completely disappears) based on the key-release speed. In other words, you can increase the expressiveness of rests and pauses to further express your individuality and freedom when playing.

Additionally, the white keyboard is made from a mix of resin and high-quality spruce that is also used in grand pianos. Not only that, but there is also an improved ivory finish for the white keys and an ebony finish for the black keys. This keyboard maximises playability while also reproducing the natural touch of a grand piano, with a stylish finish that will perfectly blend into your interior.

What is “Touch”?
Touch is the tactile response you feel in relation to producing the desired sound when pressing keys on a piano. For example, a Hammer Action refers to a mechanism that uses the same weight as the hammer of a grand piano to create a weighted feel and is commonly adopted by many pianos. However, the core sound of a digital piano differs from an acoustic grand piano, so therefore the relation between touch and sound is also different. In other words, the touch of an acoustic piano can only be accurately recreated by adopting technology that not only controls the physical mechanism but also the resulting sound that is produced.

The touch of a keyboard is determined by a complex range of factors including the down weight, up weight, touch sense, and other dynamic mechanisms involved.

Pedals
The shape of the pedals for the PX-S7000 model has been newly designed and greatly improved to better match the design and playability of a concert grand piano.

The overall size of the pedal unit has been reduced and made compact; however the actual pedals are longer and larger, making them easier to use. This has been achieved by increasing the strength of the hinges and adding adjusters’ underneath, as well as simplifying the circuit board. The pedal resistance and stroke has been optimised, recreating the feeling of playing a grand piano and allowing for the most enjoyable playing experience yet.

This improved usability allows for increased expression when playing, making it easier to add subtle nuances.

Not only the damper pedal but also the soft pedal can be used continually (two levels of the PX-S7000) making it perfect for highly skilled musicians who want added freedom and creativity.

Realtime Control
Experience the most dynamic performance potential possible thanks to real-time control that intuitively adjusts tone as you play.

The PX-S7000 is equipped with an EX-button, which allows one-touch control of apps and various built-in functions. While the PX-S6000 has a wide variety of built-in DSP effects (100 effects) and tone modifier parameters that can be assigned to know and changed in real time. Both the PX-S6000 and PX-S7000 have a control button and pitch bend wheel on the keyboard sleeve that can assigned functions and freely adjusted.

It is also possible to connect an Expression pedal to allow for real-time control. You can adjust the volume with the EXP pedal and apply modulation while pressing together with the Control button. You can also alter the speed of the rotary effect with one touch, as well as change the pitch via the pitch bend wheel.

Both the PX-S6000 and PX-S7000 are also equipped with an Arpeggiator function, which is excellent for beginners and Synth enthusiats alike because you can select from 50 pre-programmed syncopated patterns including 25 that have been specifically designed for playing on your own.

When layering or splitting, each part can be turned on/off individually. This allows for greater individual expression and freedom, so you can find your own unique new ways to enjoy playing music.

Microphone Input
Both the PX-S6000 and PX-S7000 are equipped with a standard MIC IN jack input (with a dedicated input gain knob) so you can play your favourite songs, but you can also sing along at the same time.

There are 25 various types of built-in microphone effects, such as mastering that helps with adjusting and editing your vocals; echo, which is a staple effect, and even more unique effects that can drastically change your vocal output. This means you can adjust your voice to match the song or style that you want for even more creative freedom when you want to play and sing at the same time.

Light up Function
The PX-S7000 has exclusive illumination effects to help maximise the visual appeal and make it as aesthetically enjoyable as possible. It features a touch ring that lights up while being operated or when music is being played via the Bluetooth Audio.

The touch ring glows and rotates like a record player, and the LED buttons glow in time with the song. The colours of the pitch bend wheel also change based on the sounds being expressed; warm colours to express rising strong notes and cooler tones to express softer notes creating a more dramatic playing experience.

The pitch bend wheel has three different colour variations (Cool, Colourful, and Active), allowing you to customise and freely enjoy your playing experience to the fullest.
