Overdrive & Distortion
Explore Distortion & Overdrive Pedals at Better Music
Overdrive and distortion pedals are essential tools for guitarists across all genres. Whether you’re chasing the warm crunch of a blues solo or the aggressive punch of metal rhythm, these pedals define your tone and deliver the dynamics your amp can’t reach alone. At Better Music, we stock a wide range of drive pedals to suit every player and playing style.
Build Your Gain Chain
Great tone starts with a clean setup. Pair your overdrive with Boost Pedals to tighten your attack or add clarity during solos. Want something fuzzier? Explore classic saturation with Fuzz Pedals — perfect for vintage tones and layered gain structures. A well-planned board that includes quality Instrument Cables and a clean Power Supply will keep everything running hum-free.
Trusted Brands for Killer Tone
Our collection features iconic drive pedals from Boss, MXR, Wampler, Ibanez, Electro-Harmonix, and more. From transparent overdrive to high-gain distortion boxes, you'll find everything you need to craft your sound. Combine multiple pedals on one of our Pedalboards for a portable, gig-ready setup.
What’s the Difference Between Overdrive and Distortion?
Overdrive pedals emulate the natural clipping of an amp being pushed — they’re smooth, dynamic, and responsive. Distortion pedals are more aggressive, offering compressed tones ideal for hard rock and metal. Many players use both to cover a broader range of sounds.
Can I Stack Overdrive and Distortion?
Many guitarists use a boost or low-gain overdrive to push a distortion pedal, creating a more complex, harmonically rich tone. Experimenting with pedal order and gain levels can lead to uniquely expressive results.
