The Suhr Aura was originally announced in 2018 - It is with great pleasure that we announce the Suhr Aura™ 20th Anniversary Single Cut Guitar. This is a special year for us here at Suhr® as we get ready to celebrate our 20th anniversary. A special year deserves a special guitar. Allow us to introduce you to Aura™.

Single cut, set neck guitars are near and dear to our hearts. John Suhr says, “I grew up playing this type of guitar. It’s been a dream of mine to make the perfect version for me; one that eliminates the niggles that always personally bugged me.”

We wanted to do something really special to celebrate our 20th anniversary. The Aura™ will be limited to 100 instruments worldwide. John directly oversaw the build process for each 20th Anniversary Aura™ guitar. John also was hands-on with every guitar, personally levelling the fingerboards and doing the fretwork (from installation to crowning) plus the guitar’s setup and final inspection.

Ultra-thin Urethane Finish

Why do we believe urethane is the right finish for Aura? Urethane can be sprayed ultra-thin, is not susceptible to finish checking due to temperature fluctuations and it buffs to a crystal clear high-gloss shine.

Double Stained Tops

Auras with transparent tops are double stained. This process makes the colour richer and gives the top more contrast which highlight the figuring in the wood.

Tinted Binding

We paid very close attention to the binding colour and felt it should tie the entire design of the guitar together. To achieve this, we painstakingly mask and tint the binding during the paint process. It is a time consuming process, and we love the results.

Headstock Overlay

The headstock has a natural wood veneer that is finished in black. The headstock also features a silver script Suhr logo and engraved Ebony truss rod cover cap.
