The Hummingbird Standard EC builds on that legacy with a cutaway design that provides easier access to the upper frets, paired with Gibson's exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA™ pickup system that faithfully captures the instrument's distinctive tonal character when amplified.

The Hummingbird Standard EC combines a solid Sitka spruce top with solid mahogany back and sides. Scalloped X-bracing shapes its responsive voice, while multi-ply binding accents the classic body design. This construction delivers warmth and clarity whether driving rhythm in rock or supporting dynamic expression in singer-songwriter settings. A gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish completes the timeless appearance.

The cutaway design expands access to higher frets, making this model especially appealing to lead players seeking greater expressive range. A mahogany neck with comfortable SlimTaper™ profile pairs with a bound rosewood fretboard featuring a 12-inch radius, 20 frets, and mother-of-pearl split parallelogram inlays. A rosewood belly-up bridge with TUSQ® saddle, bone nut, and Grover® Rotomatic® tuners ensure dependable performance. The distinctive tortoiseshell-coloured pickguard showcases the renowned Hummingbird graphics.

The Gibson-exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA system uses two lightweight sensors mounted to the bridge plate with dedicated, optimized preamps. This delivers a rich amplified sound that accurately reflects the instrument's natural character without affecting its unplugged voice, while providing gain-before-feedback performance comparable to under-saddle pickups. Convenient soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls remain discreetly positioned during play.

Equally prepared for stage or studio, the Hummingbird Standard EC ships in a hardshell case.

Body
Shape: Hummingbird EC (Cutaway)
Back/Sides: Mahogany
Top: Sitka Spruce
Binding: Multi-ply Top and Back, Single Ply Fretboard

Neck
Neck Material: Mahogany
Profile: Round SlimTaper
Fingerboard: Rosewood
Nut Material: TUSQ
Inlay: Mother-of-pearl Parallelograms

Hardware
Bridge: Belly-up
Tuners: Grover Rotomatic
Plating: Nickel

Electronics
Acoustic Pickup: Baggs HiFi DNA
Controls: 1 Volume, 1 Tone

https://www.bettermusic.com.au/products/gibson-hummingbird-standard-ec-heritage-cherry-burst-left-handed
