  • A Brilliant Option
    Review by Tomon 16/04/2017
I purchased a TD11-KV set a couple of years ago to upgrade from my old kit which had unfortunately succumbed to wear and tear. This one was really the only option, because acoustic kits were out of the equation and $2000 was my budget. So I settled for this kit with Roland's name and quality in mind. (I purchased it alongside the Roland Personal V-Drum Monitor) and I have loved it ever since. The customisation, not just of the sounds but of drum layout, have kept the TD11-KVs adapted to my rapidly increasing height. The option of plugging in a USB has kept me busy for hours, and enabled me to drill some songs to perfection. The only gripe I have is the size of the toms; although they work fine at first, when you're tentatively tapping your brand new kit. But after a while playing those fast fills becomes a problem, hitting the white plastic rims (which are extremely loud when that happens) I personally will attempt to add another larger tom onto the rack, and maybe use the leftover tiny one as a splash cymbal or something. The two cymbals can be quite constrictive, too, and upgradeability is limited due to only having one extra drum input. All that aside, this is an awesome budget kit for home, school and even light gigs.
  • Price
The kit is super responsive and can pick up a massive range of different dynamic hits. There are heaps of kits to choose from and you can even create your own. It is definitely worth it's price because for what you get out of it is unbelievable. This kit is great for musical playing and you can really develop good skills as it offers a range of backing tracks you can play along to, and also is has a metronome in which it tells you how close you were to perfection. This kit can help develop good and the best part is its no where near as loud as an acoustic kit if you just plug your headphones in. If you ever do want to make it louder you will have to purchase an extra drum amplifier and then you will be able to play out loud for everyone to hear as well.
