Vestax CDX-05
The CDX-05 is the newest of the Vestax CDJ range and a vast improvement on their previous models. With professional, great-sounding effects like flanger, filter, echo/delay and effect sync capabilities, this is by far the best buy under $1K. The top control pad/wheel is very precise for tracking and cueing your songs and with the optional Tascam TT-M1 controller, this unit enters a realm of its own.
With the TT-M1 connected, the CDX-05 can be controlled by the Tascam sitting on a turntable platter. This gives an unprecedented latency response direct from the turntable's platter! In other words, you can scratch any CD on this unit from your turntable. We have tried many CDJ units but this really makes a difference because it is the turntable you are scratching/mixing on. As the speed of the turntable is changed, the TT-M1 transfers that information to the CDX05 so that all your start/stop and pitch control movements are transferrable.

Denon DND-4000
Denon's Dual CD player is still a popular format for club installations and mobile DJs. The 19 inch rack mount trays at the bottom can be racked out of the way while the top controller section can be mounted near your mixer for ease of use. The unit features one loop and sample per side and adjustable pitch control range. The jog wheel makes it easy to cue up your tracks and pitch bend helps to keep it in time. All in all a solid unit at a reasonable price.
